We leave for this trip two weeks from today! I can't wait. Today the lists begin and I really need to get serious about organizing our trip. Since so many people have asked me to describe life on the bus, I am going to include some pictures and descriptions of what it is like. I think it is just wonderful and hopefully you will see why over the course of the next six weeks.
Today I mapped out the first leg of our journey. It was a little tight because I must be in Tucson for a meeting on the 20th or the morning of the 21st at the latest. I want to add a day at Carlsbad Caverns http://www.nps.gov/cave/ and that makes my schedule even tighter. Here is what I came up with:

This is the route I propose. It looks like this:
Sunday – leave around 8:00 a.m. and travel to Jackson, Mississippi - 416 mi – about 6 hours 19 mins. Spend the night in Jackson. (arrive around 3:00) if we go to church arrive around 7:30
Monday – leave around 7:00 a.m. and travel to Midland, Texas - 734 mi – about 11 hours 3 mins. Spend the night in Midland. (arrive around 7:00 or 6:00, I think we have a time change here)
Tuesday - leave around 8:00 a.m. and travel to Carlsbad,NM – 183 mi 3 hours. Arrive around noon. Eat lunch and spend the day at Carlsbad Caverns. Spend the night in Carlsbad, NM.
Wednesday - leave around 8:00 a.m. and travel to Tucson, AZ. 485 mi – about 7 hours 44 mins. Arrive around 5:00.
Thursday – meeting starts
Well, the Superbowl is over and I am ready for bed.
