This was taken in the food court of the Foothills Mall where me and the kids saw the Spiderwick Chronicles. The movie was good and the food court dinner was the kids favorite so far!

The La Paloma Resort
Ted in his other Office
During the week when we are on the road I do alot of the driving so Ted can work. This bus has a little office with a charging station, a printer drawer, file drawers and an executive chair. It is perfect for him to do anything he would do when we are home. What you see in the background is the Arizona skyline.
Carpe Diem
When we got this bus, it had a big, blank place on the front for a plate. I thought long and hard about what I wanted to put there. One night I literally woke up and knew what it would be...Carpe diem - [Latin for]Seize the Day! This whole thing came about when we realized that we have been married over 15 1/2 years it has gone by so quickly! In less than five years, Connor will be a legal adult, 1 1/2 years after that, Lacy will, and in less than 9 years, Evan will be gone and all of our kids wil be grown! That is just no time at all. We want to parent in a way that when we are finished, we will have no regrets. We will seize the days we have together so we can enjoy our time together as a couple once they are gone with the satisfaction that we took the time to KNOW our family. We are so glad to be doing this now instead of wishing we did later.

Tutu's Cookies
The last thing we do each night is make cookies. My mom (Tutu) made almost 300 home made chocolate chip, sugar and "monster cookes" that she shaped and froze raw. Each evening we take out three cookies each and bake them (that is everyone but Evan...he eats his raw). We go to bed with the sweet smell of fresh baked cookies lingering in the air.

View of Las Cruces
This is a picture taken from inside our bus at the campsite! We are on top of a hill overlooking the city of Las Cruces. As I type this, it is night time and the city lights are twinkling in the distance. A gazebo beside our bus has painted along the top the four mountain ranges we see from this site. It is absolutely beautiful.
Finally, a Gas Station!
Whimsy along the way
All along our travels there are little picnic areas in the middle of nowhere. It is amazing how you won't see any sign of life for miles and then, out of nowhere, there is a picnic area. There is also no gas anywhere. I guess we were susposed to know there is no McDonalds and no gas...good thing we are in an RV with a big tank and a refridgerator!
Can you believe this is Texas?
Ted and Lacy in the Passenger Seat
Roadschoolng 101
This is a typical travel day for us. The kids use a computer based study that they each work on while we ride along. We have videos, books and research about the local areas that we review the evening before we travel. We have objectives we need to reach during the day, but we are not too structured about the timing. There is so much to see and do while on the road.
Goodnight Lacy
Ted and I sleep in a king size bed in our room. For the kids, we have a queen size sofa bed and two air matresses. The kids rotate from bed to bed each night. This is Lacy's favorite spot on an air mattress under the kitchen table. She has two blankets, a sock monkey and an electric blanket with her each night.
